Head Coach Blaze Shade

In my coaching career (2017-2020) I have coached 6 DII all-Americans, 1 DII National Finalist, 18 Division II national qualifiers, 16 NWCA all-Americans, 2 Conference Championship Teams (ECAC, 2016-2017 & MEC, 2019-2020), and 1 Super Region II Championship Team (2019-2020).

I also coached at NC Pride Wrestling in Lumberton, NC from 2017 to 2020, work at Johnson Athletics Camps from 2017-2020, was a clinician for Beat the Streets: Top of the Podium Camp in 2013 and 2014 and I was a scholarship recipient and attended the NWCA Leadership Academy in 2019 in Ft. Lauderdale, Florida

My wrestling career accomplishments consist of me being a 2x District 30 Champion, a Region 8 Champion, a NJSIAA State Placer, and 2012 FloNationals All-american at Timber Creek Regional High School with a career record of 110-20.

In college I was a 4x DII national qualifier, a 3x DII All-American (2013-14, 2015-16, 2016-2017) and a 2x DII National Finalist (2015-16, 2016-17). I was a 2x First Team All-Conference in the ECAC and the ECAC Wrestler of the Year in 2015-2016. I finished my college career with a record of 124-29 (.810) and placed top 8 in over 19 events.

Lastly, I earned my bachelor’s degree in biology from UNCP in 2017 and I am currently pursuing my master’s degree in sport administration at UNCP as well. I will be moving into the surrounding area with my fiancee Faith and our son Brayden, 2.
